We’ve Been There!
It is a phrase that we at Fox Travel use because it’s true. Between Donna and Jim, the owners of Fox Travel, who have traveled to over 100 different countries, and the Fox Travel staff that has traveled all over, we have the experience to help you plan the best vacation ever! Those “insider tips” can make the difference between a great vacation and an incredible one. In this edition, we will be talking about our travel to Mexico!
Travel to Mexico
One of our favorite close-to-home destinations is Mexico. With great food, culture, history, gorgeous beaches, beautiful all-inclusive resorts, and more, it’s hard for it to not be on top of everyone’s list to visit at least once, be it by land or sea.
At Fox Travel, all of our agents have visited Mexico several times. We have put together some of our favorite experiences to give you, our readers, a glimpse of the fun things you can expect when you travel to Mexico.
Debbie, who has been to Mexico six times, said her favorite location to visit and stay was the Iberostar Lido in Playa del Carmen. With a wave pool, lazy rivers, a great beach, palapas, a concierge to help you with your dinner reservations, and more, it was a great place for Debbie and her adult children to relax and play. Debbie reported that the street tacos that they make fresh daily were delicious and they were all you can eat. She also recommends going to Xcaret and Xel-Ha Parks, swimming with the dolphins, taking trips, jet skiing, parasailing, and seeing the ancient walled city of Tulum.
Alma, who has been to Mexico over 10 times, loves the Riviera Maya area because it is packed with sightseeing and off-the-grid adventures. She loved and recommended snorkeling in Centoes, which are water-filled caves, visiting underwater museums, and also recommends visiting archeological Mayan treasures of Tulum and Chichen Itza
Alma also recommends Mexico City for the history buff. You can go through archeological sites and museums and see restored architectural treasures. She said the people are warm and friendly but the driving is frenzied and she does not recommend renting a car here.
Tahnee has been to the Gulf side of Mexico three times, on different cruises, and the Pacific side twice. Her favorite destination was Cozumel because there is more nature and fewer buildings than Cancun. Some favorite shore excursions were ATV-ing on the beach, swimming with the dolphins, or for a more family-friendly excursion (with toddlers), Playa Mia Beach and Water Park were great. It had a lovely beach where you get served drinks under their umbrellas, the snorkeling was fantastic right off the beach, and the younger kids loved the water park and splash pad.
Irene, a member of the Fox Travel marketing team, favorite Mexico destination was Puerto Vallarta. Irene loved sailing the bay on a large catamaran to visit towns that could only be accessed by boat. It was so memorable that they made a second trip to revisit one of their favorite villages. There are hundreds of shops in Puerto Vallarta’s romantic zone filled with local art on the Malecon boardwalk. Exploring the towns’ charming architecture and all the colors that are so much of a part of Mexico is a delight. Irene has been back to Puerto Vallarta three additional times and she loves it more each time she goes!
Mexico just keeps getting better and better. With many different ways to access their growing cities, you can visit for the day, the week, or longer! Contact your favorite Fox Travel agent to plan your Mexico trip today at 281-363-0808!
