With so many different cruise lines out there it’s sometimes hard to wade through all the gimmicks, advertising, and sales to find out what the best cruise line is for you. Fox Travel gave you a brief introduction to cruising and talked about some great adult-oriented cruises. Today we will be talking about the best family cruises! With a little one myself, I know how important it is to find a great vacation that will benefit both your children and you! Because let’s face it, parents, you need a vacation too! Best Family Cruises
Disney Cruise Line – For a Magical Time
Of course, when we think of kids we think of Disney. If you have been to the Disneyland or Disney World parks you know just how much innovation they put at every turn, and their cruise line is no different. Starting with their inside staterooms, they were the first cruise line to offer a digital port hole that allows you to see a live feed from cameras on the ship, plus an occasional Disney character. They have deck parties, character experiences, pools, water slides, and splash pads. What is great about Disney cruises is not only do they have baby pools, so they don’t get splashed by bigger kids, but they have adult-only pools too! Parents, send your kids to one of the amazing kid’s clubs and take some time to relax by the adult-only pool, or many of the adult-only sections, bars, and pubs, on a Disney Cruise. Do your kids love Star Wars? Avengers? Or dressing up like a Disney Princess? Check out their themed cruises and kids clubs or spend a spa day where your daughter can get her hair and makeup done just like her favorite princess. Disney Cruises also knows how to make every holiday magical, from Halloween to Christmas, New Year’s to the 4th of July, and more! Disney cruises are in Galveston from November through January!
Royal Caribbean – For the Adventure Seeker
Some of the best family cruises are with Royal Caribbean. They cater to people of every age without being specific to one age group. This cruise line makes for a great vacation for family or friend groups with kids of all ages. They have listened to their audience and have made changes to give their guests everything they could want on board. Worried about not having enough to do on your days at sea? With Royal Caribbean, you will not be at a loss of activities. From their Surf Rider surf simulator to their rock walls, the tallest water slides to their zip lines, Broadway-style entertainment to DreamWorks character meet and greets, there is so much to do on an RCCL ship. They also have digital screens in their newer ships inside staterooms, but this screen is the full wall! Also available are inside staterooms with balconies that overlook the shopping and garden areas. Royal Caribbean also has a casino, bars, and lounges for adults too, so send your kids to RCCL’s amazing kids programs or teen lounge areas and enjoy a moment alone! The best thing about RCCL? They sail out of Galveston year-round!
Princess Cruises – For the Science and Nature-Loving
What I love about Princess Cruises is that they have partnered with the Discovery Channel and the California Science Center to give your kids a fun and educational experience while on the cruise in the youth clubs. They will get to learn about the animals and destinations they are visiting. They will get to try Mythbusters challenges, learn survival skills, and learn about different animals with Animal Planet, and the Endeavour Space Shuttle. So if your kid is into animals or science, he or she will love going to the kid’s camps when out to sea. Don’t worry parents! They have a Discovery at Sea Encounters for you too! Now it’s not all learning on board, there are also video game rooms where you can freely access leisure options like Satta King, teen lounge, and club areas too! And a special club for 18 – 20 year olds that are not old enough to hang out in the adult areas, but not young enough for the youth clubs. What’s nice about Princess though, is that the rest of the ship is made more for adults. Princess is a great mix for those who don’t want things overly kiddie, but want their kids to have a great time as well.
Other Best Family Cruises Options
Now don’t forget about Carnival and Holland America! Carnival is great for kids of all ages with water parks on board and fun daily kid activities. Not to mention that they also sail year-round out of Galveston with 4-day sailing options, which is great for a long weekend getaway! Do you have an aspiring chef? Holland America is partnering with The Food Network and will offer young chef cooking classes and cooking competitions! Both are also great options, especially for certain destinations and timelines.
