Disney Theme Parks – The Magical World of Disney

Going to Disney theme parks as a child was always a magical experience for me. Growing up in Southern California I went to Disneyland all the time and have so many fond memories there. As a parent taking my child to Disneyland for the first time and seeing the wonder, excitement, and magic through his eyes, was so incredibly special.

Visiting a Disney theme park makes for an amazing family vacation! With fun rides for all ages, character meet and greets, tasty food, and new and exciting subparks opening all the time, a Disney theme park vacation is for everyone!

There are 11 different Disney theme parks and 2 water parks. I will go over all of these, just keep reading!

Disney Theme Parks

Walt Disney World Orlando

With 4 parks and 2 water parks, Disney World Orlando is by far the largest of the Disney theme parks. The Magic Kingdom is the traditional Disney park, with Cinderella Castle and iconic rides. Epcot is known for featuring rides, restaurants, shows, and more on different destinations around the world. Epcot also hosts many food, wine, and beer tastings throughout the year.

Disney Hollywood Studios is where all the new movies are, from Toy Story to Frozen, this theme park will be a hit with kids that love the newer Disney movies. Opening up Summer of 2018 is the new Toy Story Land and in 2019 is the new Star Wars land within Disney Hollywood Studios too! The last part is the Disney Animal Kingdom. Hike through the jungle, see live animals roam around the grounds, and visit the new Pandora land!

There are also the 2 water parks, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. Both come in handy for those hot and humid summer days in Florida.

There are 30 hotels and resorts within the Disney World theme park with ranging price ranges from value to Deluxe and Deluxe Villas. Fox Travel also can book hotels offsite as well as house rentals. One of the great things about booking with a Disney resort hotel is you’ll get those cool bracelets that allow you to enter your room, and the parks, use them for your meal plans, and fast passes, purchase items around Disney, and more.

Tips: We recommend buying a multiple-day park hopper pass. Charges for park tickets go down the more days you purchase. We also recommend purchasing a meal plan option. Being able to not have to worry about food costs while on vacation is a huge plus. Disney World also has the option of booking your Fast Passes ahead of schedule, which helps your planning!

Disneyland California

The first of the Disney theme parks is Disneyland in Anaheim California built in 1955. Disneyland has just two theme parks, Disneyland and California Adventure. Disneyland, like the Magic Kingdom, has the iconic rides and character meet and greats that everyone knows and loves with Disney. Disneyland still has many of the original rides that it started in 1955 like the Tea Cups, Jungle Cruise, and Autopia.

Disney California Adventure is similar to Florida’s Disney Hollywood Studios.  Frozen and Cars are the most popular attractions at California Adventure. With the new renovations they are doing with the aid of experts like Vancouver Renovation Companies, California Adventure will probably be a fan favorite by many.

Also opening up in 2019 at Disneyland is Star Wars Land to the excitement of many Disneyland fans.

There are only 3 Disney hotels on the property. Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, and Disney’s Grand California Hotel and Spa. The Grand Hotel is located inside the California Adventure Park, while the other 2 are located in the Downtown Disney area. There are also many hotels around the Disneyland resort. Some are within the same walking distance to the front of the parks as the onsite Disney properties!

Tips: With Disneyland and all Disney theme parks, you will want to book your character breakfasts and any additional extras like the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique where your princess will get made up to look like her favorite Disney Princess.

Disneyland International

If you are a Disney fan, you’ll, of course, need to plan trips to visit every park! When visiting these 4 other theme parks around the world, you can also take some time off from your busy Disney schedule to see the very popular cities of Paris, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo, you know, if you’re into that sort of thing. Or parents, plan your vacation to one of these amazing cities and take a day for the kids to do some Disney fun!
